Teaching assistants, course instructor honoured for excellence in teaching
The University of Toronto has announced the recipients of the 2020 and , presented annually by .
“Congratulations to this exceptional group of students,” says Carol Rolheiser, director of the Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation. “We were very impressed with the strong pool of applicants, but this year’s winners stood out and have shown their commitment to enhancing the undergraduate education experience across our university.”
The TA Teaching Excellence Awards celebrate the remarkable contributions of graduate students teaching in an undergraduate classroom and the value of TAs who regularly inspire and challenge their students. This year’s winners of the TA Teaching Excellence Awards are:
- Virginie Coindre of the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering in the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering
- Marc De Benedetti of the department of chemical and physical sciences, ˾ֱ Mississauga
- Ryan Persadie of the Women and Gender Studies Institute, ˾ֱ St. George
- Nida Mustafa of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Health and Society, ˾ֱ Scarborough
- Julie Prior, of the department of English in the Faculty of Arts & Science
- Andrew Wilson of the department of math in the Faculty of Arts & Science
The CI Teaching Excellence Award recognizes the work of one graduate student whose work as a sole-responsibility course instructor shows educational leadership, meaningful contributions to course and curriculum development, and impact on student learning. This year’s winner of the CI Teaching Excellence Award is Danielle Tessaro of the department of human geography, ˾ֱ Scarborough.
