President Meric Gertler invites graduating students, family and friends to ˾ֱ's fall convocation

Students who are graduating from the University of Toronto this fall are “an inspiration to us all” and the ˾ֱ community is looking forward to celebrating their impressive achievements, President Meric Gertler says.

In a video address, President Gertler invites graduating students – who number more than 5,200, from 59 countries – along with their families and friends to tune in at 12 p.m. EST on Nov. 21, 2020 for the university’s virtual fall convocation.

“We are extremely proud of all of you,” President Gertler says in the video message. “You’ve worked so hard and learned so much inside and outside the classroom over the past four years – and you’ve crossed the finish line under uniquely challenging circumstances.

“You are an inspiration to us all.”

The ceremony will be available for public viewing at ˾ֱ’s Convocation Hub, where it will remain available for several months for those who are unable to view it that day. The event will include an address by Professor Maydianne Andrade, who is also ˾ֱ Scarborough’s vice-dean faculty affairs, equity and success, and congratulatory messages delivered by students and senior leaders representing faculties and divisions across the university.
